The effect I hope to create on the audience is an understanding of Jacob and to see where Emily is coming from. In the story, Jacob is blunt to everyone's feelings as it is explained by his wife, Emily. Because of his conceitedness, he hurts the feelings of people close to him, including his wife's and is left alone in the room after receiving harsh but truthful words by her. I created these feelings by making Jacob someone who is clueless and quite stuck up. By the end of this tapestry unit, I hope for the reader to understand the meaning of conceit, to recognize what it looks like in people, and be able to go through my story and understand fully what I was trying to get through to the audience.As I continue this project, I hope to show people what true conceit looks like in people.
